The shaky market combined with increased costs are making it nearly impossible to conduct business in the fashion that we were all accustomed. At every turn there are more and more cost increases that are putting strains on the cash flow of small businesses in ways never imagined. Negative cash flow coupled with the credit crunch caused by an uncertain economy have caused many small businesses to cut corners at every turn, begin employee layoffs or shut their doors completely. All of this simply because at the end of the day there just wasn't enough cash to continue operations.
Out of this, Pro Trade Xchange was born. As someone who has been a member of the small business community for over twenty years, I understand the hardships and struggles that small businesses go through. The feast and famine that is associated with cash flow along with the high points through the good years and the low points through the bad years. I have been there at the beginning and watched businesses grow into wildly successful operations never thought possible. I have sat at the helm of expansion from a one store operation to a multi-store chain. Sadly, I have also stood as the last man on deck before all weight had to be jettisoned just for a business to stay afloat.
Put quite simply, I am not a software geek that has expanded on a novel idea. I too am a small business owner. My colleagues and I have all been involved in small business for more years than we sometimes like to count. Like you, we have poured our heart and soul into something we believed. Often, we have watched businesses grow into something successful and nothing is more gratifying to a business owner than to watch his idea develop into a well oiled machine that remains constant, solid and grows with imagination. It's kind of like steering a solid ship that is strong enough to brave the fiercest storms, yet graceful enough to be a joy sailing over clear waters. However, we have seen some of our colleagues in the business world call it quits. Whether it affects your business or not, it always hits close to home when we watch another small business fail.
